I studied creative writing and English literature at the University of East Anglia and was joint president of the Creative Writing Society in my final year, helping to put together an anthology called Sesame. My undergraduate dissertation became a novella, Exposé, which was published by the University of East Anglia in 1998 as part of their texts series.

I took a publishing course as part of my MA, which served as an introduction to Macs, QuarkXpress and proofreading. Soon after graduating from the MA in Creative Writing at UEA, I became a copywriter, starting my career at Riley Advertising, Nottingham.

Alongside my copywriting business, I teach the clarinet and write and perform poetry.
